Jesus is Coming Soon

The prophecies of Jesus' return to the earth are being fulfilled before our very eyes!  Soon and very soon, those who belong to Him will be changed in the twinkling of an eye and caught up with Him in the air.  What a day we are living in.  It would do us all good to acknowledge that God created us and pre-planned for US to be here on planet earth for such a time as this!

In light of where we are on God's timeline, there's a passage of Scripture that instructs us of some things we should be giving our attention to.  This is the time that we should be wide awake and alert and understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Hebrews 10:23-25: Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Number one, we are instructed to hold fast our profession or our confession of faith.  In other words, we are to hold on tight to our confession of faith, and then He reminds us that He Who promised is faithful!  Why would we need to hold on tight?  Because something is after it!  The spirit of the world, the enemy of our soul, an unrenewed mind and undisciplined flesh are all enemies of our faith, but if we will hold tight to God's Word, stay with It, keep It in our hearts, and in our mouths, the Bible says He is faithful to perform His Word on our behalf!  Hold tight the profession/confession of your faith - without wavering!

Number two, we are to be thinking of our brothers and sisters in Christ - those who He has joined together in the local church, and how we can encourage, strengthen and help each other to love and to do the good works that God planned for each of us to walk in. (Ephesians 2:10) Verse 24 in the AMPC reads: and let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities.

Number three, we are clearly instructed to not quit assembling together, but we are to be encouraging one another and it goes on to say - and even more so as you see the day approaching.  What day is that?  The day of the Lord's return.  So, we are not to be going to church less, but more!  Church is to be our life, not an option or addition to our lives.  The glory is in the assembling! The power is in the assembling!

Confession:  I will hold tight the confession of my faith without wavering, for God, Who promised is faithful! I will give attention to the body of Christ and how I can be a blessing, encouragement and strength to those He has called me together with, and I commit to be in church, assembled together with the other saints as God has instructed - not less but more, and I will run my race and finish my course all to the glory of God!  When He returns, He WILL find faith in me and in my house.
