A Table Prepared
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over. Psalms 23:5
David, out of his heart of confidence in the One Who had faithfully and extravagantly provided for and delivered him time and time again, boldly declared and praised God for the bounty of His provision.
When Jesus declared "It is finished" on the cross, the debt of all mankind and man's redemption - spirit, soul and body was paid for. The "table had been set". Everything you have need of in your life was made available for you through the Lord Jesus' substitutionary work. His table is full of forgiveness, peace, joy, healing, finances, provision, deliverance and freedom. Bought and paid for - for you! He not only prepared this bountiful table of extreme life for you, but He also prepared a seat for you at that table! Glory to God! By His redeeming Blood, He is beckoning you to come take your seat at His table and partake of ALL the LIFE that He has provided- right in the midst of your enemies! As one minister said, let the enemy watch you eat your victory!
Lay hold of whatever "life" you have need of by faith right now! Give Him thanks - express your gratitude for the abundance of His table and partake! We fill His heart with joy when we recognize and by faith take what cost Him everything to provide for us!
Psalms 103 tell us to bless - affectionately and gratefully praise the Lord for ALL HIS BENEFITS. To never forget them. To remind ourselves of them every day and to thank Him for them! Everyday. Multiple times a day. What are we doing when we do this? We are praising God for all of His amazing benefits and living more aware of the provision than we are our need. Need is swallowed up in provision when we do this! The provision is great - bought and paid for and waiting for you at His table, but He cannot make you sit there. He cannot make you partake. These two acts are completely an act of our own will and we do it by faith. We choose to believe God, to believe His Word and take our seat and partake of all His benefits. God has gloriously done His part to give us all consuming life. It is there on His table, waiting for us. It is us to up to receive it, and we do it by faith! And it is best received when we practice this every single day and not just when a "huge need" arises.
Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits— 3 Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy; 5 Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle’s [strong, overcoming, soaring]!
You spread out a table before me, provisions in the midst of attack from my enemies; You care for all my needs, anointing my head with soothing, fragrant oil, filling my cup again and again with Your grace. Psalms 23:5 (The Voice)
